SOLWAY COLLEGE

EiND=OF=YEAR CEREMONY PRESENTATION OF PRIZES PROGRAMME BY THE GIRLS There was a large attendance of parents and friends from far and near at the Solway College break-up ceremony last night. The Rev W. J. Couling presided. A splendid programme was presented by the girls. There was mass singing of Elgar's “The King.” hymns and scripture recitation, piano solos by Judith Loughlin, a bracket of solos bj r Naomi Harris, a bracket of part songs by “The Aeolians,” and solos by Mary Burch and Maureen Franklin. The Principal, Miss Mcßae, presented her annual report in which she gave parents a detailed account of the accrediting system and the change in organisation which would follow. The Rev F. H. Robertson, Director of the Campaign for Christian Order, gave an address in which he. indicated how his audience'as individuals could play their '.part in the new order. Mr Robertson, interspersed his remarks with humour and when he later presented the prizes he carried out the task in a happy vein and had words of encouragement for the recipients.
