HEALTH STAMP CAMPAIGN
SALES FOR TWO MONTHS.
RECORD FIGURES ANNOUNCED.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, This Day
Appreciation of the very fine response already made by the public to the Health Stamp Campaign appeal was expressed on behalf of the Government by the Minister of Health, Mr Nordmeyer, in an address last night. He said that the campaign had been in progress for two months and a half, and that the sales for the first two complete months, October and November, had been unprecedented, reaching the substantial total of £37,800. That was considerably more than double the amount received during the whole of the last Health Stamp Campaign of a duration of five months.
“This year’s very fine achievement is the result of increased sales of Health Stamps in all districts,” said the Minister. “As a result of the very fine sales so far this season, health camp funds will benefit to the extent of £13,000. This represents the portion of the £37,800 which goes to health camps, the remainder, of course, being ordinary postal revenue. While £13,000 is an excellent total, our objective for the season is £25,000, so that for the rest of the campaign it will be necessary to bring in another £12,000. From the way the people have answered the appeal, I am confident that we will attain this.”
