PUPILS’ RECITAL
WELL-VARIED PROGRAMME
A most successful recital by the pupils of Mrs J. N. Leadley was given in the Methodist Hall to parents and friends. The stage arrangements were in the hands of Mr M. Winslade. Mrs Allan Barnes was a very capable accompaniste and played duets in company with Miss Shona Worrell. Miss Doreen Jamieson gave solos and rendered the solo parts of other items. The programme was well varied and included recitations, dances, sketches, a playettepa monologue, stories without words, recitations in character, songs, songs in character, piano duets and violin solos. The children taking part were: Valerie Bell, Colin Winslade, Allison Hill, Peter Oakly, Jill Cohen, Dawn Allen, Frazer Hope, Peggy Morris, Shirley Nicol, Myra Allen, Jack Bailey, Keitha Catherall. Mrs Leadley was presented with shoulder sprays and bouquets and also received a beautiful gift from her pupils. Mrs K. Catherall and Mrs M. Winslade were in charge of the supper arrangements, and at the conclusion of the programme supper was served.
