WAIRARAPA BRANCH MEETING. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. A meeting of the Wairarapa branch of the New Zealand Defence Services’ Association was held in Masterton last night when there was.a good attendance of home service men. / Mr A. J. White outlined the proceedings at a recent Dominion conference i/r Wellington, and a vote of thanks was passed to Mr A. Et Prentice, secretary of the Wairarapa Returned Services’ Association for his ready assistance at all times. Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr P. J. Borthwick; president, Mr C. J. Carle; vice-president, Mr A. J. White; hon. secretary, Mr R. G. Russell! hon. treasurer, Mr R. R. F. Ryan; executive, Messrs T. M. Daly, T. Eades and W. James, with power to add. The matter of framing rules was left to the committee. It was stated that service men or women with at least six months continuous service would be eligible foi membership. The subscription would be 10s for men and 5s for women. A registered badge will be issued to members and the committee intends holding socials, etc., to bring, members together. The main work of the association will be connected with pension and rehabilitation matters.
