Child Dies From Burns.
Admitted to the Auckland Hospital on Saturday suffering from burns to the chest and right arm, a three-year-old girl, Luana Pirihi, Blockhouse Bay Road, died yesterday. The child received the burns when she was playing with matches and her clothes caught fire. Farmers’ Federation. Disappointment with the working of the Farmers’ Federation was expressed at a meeting of the Wairarapa Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union yesterday afternoon. A resolution was passed urging that representation on the federation should be one representative for each 2.000 members in each organisation. Patriotic Collection. At the final meeting for the year yesterday of the Dunedin-St. Kilda Sub-zone Patriotic Committee, it was announced that of the committee’s quota of £58,000 the sum of £56,894 was now in hand and amounts yet to be received would bring the total to £58,364. : It.
