CHILDREN’S REARING COMPETITIONS WAIRARAPA CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS AT CARTERTON (“Times-Age” Special.) The Wairarapa championship judging of calves and lambs took place on the Carterton showgrounds on Saturday. The judge of the calves was Mr W. J. Mclntosh, of Dannevirke, and of the lambs Mr N. Blatatiford of the Wairarapa Training Farm. Masterton. The prize winners were: LAMBS Long woolled lamb: Theo Theobold, Martinborough, 1 and miniature cup, J. Gray, Martinborough, 2, Rona Harland, Gladstone, 3. Short wooled lamb: Noel Jensen, Waihakeke, 1 and miniature cup; Lewis Warren, Dyerville, 2; Alan' Jensen, Waihakeke, 3. CALVES a Pedigree calves, cape and handling: Melva Henderson, Featherston, 1 (miniature cup and challenge cup); June Rayner, Clareville, 2; Bruce Cottle, Kopuaranga, 3. Grade calves, care find handling, standards 1 and under: Ailcen Henderson, South Featherston, 1 and trophy; Neil Scott, Featherston, 2; Bruce Hutchings, Greytown. 3. Standards 2 and 3: Noel Jensen, Waihakeke, 1 and trophy; Marti Apihene, South Featherston, 2; Leslie Grigson, Carterton, 3. Standards 4, 5 and 6: Delma Jensen, Waihakeke, 1 and trophy; Noreen Conwell, Dalefield, 2; Brian Butcher, Carterton, 3. Champion calf, care and handling: Delma Jensen, Waihakeke, 1. Grade dairy type: Brian Butcher, Carterton, 1 and trophy; Leslie Grigson, Carterton, 2; Ruth Karaitiana, Firinoa, 3.
