SACRED CANTATA

BY METHODIST JUNIOR CHOIR A sacred cantata, “Chimes of the Holy Night,” was presented to a crowded congregation in the Methodist Church last night by the Junior Choir. Although the work was written for adult voices, the children managed the difficult passages with confidence and with good effect. Their achievement reflected great credit on the work of the conductor, Mrs I. Parker. Fine results were also apparent in the solo parts, the children responsible being Ngaire Foster, Mary On Hing, Joy Perrin, Shirley Anderson, Mary Tolhurst, Ron Price, Daniell Davey, Noel Price, Ray Foster, Robert On Hing, Brian Marryatt and Haddon Bateup. A retiring collection in aid of the Methodist Children’s Home received a good response.
