SOLDIERS’ COMFORT CARD TOURNAMENT (“Times-Age” Special.) The Borough Ladies Soldiers 1 Comforts Committee held a flag 500 tournament on Saturday evening. The games were controlled by Mr Mereweather. Miss M. Anderson (president) presented the prizes to the following winners: —Ladies, Mrs Rasmussen and Miss Sybil Green; men, Mr Rasmussen and Mr M. Southey, Junr. The prizes were donated by Mesdames E. M. Simmers and G. Murray - Aynsley, who were also the hostesses. Supper was provided by the ladies’ committee. The competitions for the Christmas mystery parcel and the breakfast tray set donated by Mrs A. S. Carter were finalised. The winners were Mrs B. Higginson and Miss Caldwell. Personal Items Sister Mary Simmers, of the Napier Hospital staff, is spending a holiday with Dr and Mrs Simmers. Mrs Butcher, Palmerston North, is staying with her son, Mr D. Butcher. Miss Mavis Anlin, Wellington, who has been the guest of Mrs J. S. Tripe, has returned home. Mrs Bray, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs W. Olsen. Mr Hogan, Blenheim, is staying with his sister, Mrs F. J. Mcßride. Miss Sybil Green, assistant teacher at the Nireaha School, has received word of her transfer to Blenheim.
