(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, December 11. “The Americans are coming like an avalanche,” said the South African Prime Minister, General Smuts, in an interview at Nairobi, Kenya. “I do not share the belief that the German people will soon collapse; they are going to fight hard. Nevertheless, I am supremely confident for these reasons: “First, the U-boat is beaten; secondly, the,enormous effect on Germany of our terrific bombing; thirdly, the phenomenal Russian successes; fourthly, the reopening of the Mediterranean. “Our bombing is a most considerable contribution to victory,” said General Smuts. “We are now making it really a blow at the heart.
