DOZENS OF SHELLS
POURED INTO LENINGRAD EVERY PAY RUSSIANS DEMANDING REPRISALS (By Telegraph—(Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, December 12. ■ Dozens of German shells are pouring into Leningrad every day, specially during the morning and evening rush hours, says the British United Press correspondent in Moscow. The Russians are beginning to. demand reprisals for the bombardment, which is knocking down residential as well as business areas, and killing and burying, many women and children. The most receyt German targets have included main boulevards, theatres and famous palaces. FILL SCALE ATTACK ON THE EASTERN FRONT SAID TO BE. CONTEMPLATED BY GERMANS .LONDON, December 12. The Germans, it is believed, are planning to launch a full-scale attack in Russia before the Red Army begins a winter offensive, says Reuter’s Ankara correspondent. According to reliable reports, the Germans.in the last fortnight have been sending very heavy reinforcements across Poland to Russia. The troop movements have been particularly heavy on the WarsawLvov line, from which all civilian traffic has been banned. SUPPLIES FROM INDIA REACHING RUSSIA BY WAY OF PERSIA LONDON, December 11.. India is sending jute, rubber, hessian, copper, tin and mercury to Russia over the east Persia route, which is complementary to west Persian routes over which British and American supplies are going to the Soviet. Thousands of peasant workmen here laid down the new motor highway. It follows an ancient caravan track over hills and desert for 600 miles, and brings India’s vast 1 resources within a week’s journey of Russia’s southern frontier. Already 3000 lorries are operating over the route.
