RIBBON PARADE
WAIRARAPA KENNEL CLUB GATHERING IN MASTERTON PARK. INTEREST IN PETS’ CLASS. • The Wairarapa held a most successful Ribbon Parade in the Park on Saturday, the judge of all classes being Mr C. Pedersen. There were not so many dogs at this parade, but a big variety of breeds was represented, the standard of which was exceedingly good. An added attraction to the parade was a pets’ class; judged by the president of the club, Mr H. Mackenzie Douglas. A large number of spectators were amused to see the pets, which were of all kinds and sizes, one being in a small cart. The judge was puzzled for a while to pick the winner, but the honour went to a small boy with a Samoyede. For the cleverest pet tbte dogs had to perform their tricks. This was the cause of a lot of amusement. Mr Lett’s “Tene” went through all his tricks in great style, and won the prize amid great applause. Mr Mackenzie Douglas congratulated the exhibitors on their successes, and 'also Mr C. Pedersen for the excellent way in which he had performed his duty as a judge. He asked Mrs S. D. Geary to present the ribbons to the winners. In the evening, members of the committee of the Kennel Club were invited to a social evening held at Mr and Mrs S. D. Geary’s residence, to celebrate the success of their pointer, Ch. Stamford Statesman, who has been awarded best in show four times in succession.
