GRACIOUS MESSAGE
ADDRESSED BY QUEEN TO RECEIVING BRITISH CHILDREN. SENT OVERSEAS DURING WAR PERIOD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Her Majesty the Queen has sent a personal message of thanks to persons in New Zealand and other Dominions who have- given such generous hospitality to children evacuated from the United Kingdom under the Children’s Overseas Reception Board scheme. Beautifully printed and surmounted by the Royal coat of arms, the message says: “I wish to mark by this personal message my gratitude for the help and kindness which you have shown to children who crossed the sea from the United Kingdom many months ago. Since the early days of the war you have opened your door to strangers and offered to share your home with them. In the kindness of your heart you have accepted them as members of your own family and I know that to this unselfish task you and all your household have made many great sacrifices. By your generous sympathy you have earned the true and lasting gratitude of those to whom you have given this hospitality and by your understanding you have shown how strong is the bond uniting those who cherish the same ideals."
