TWO FRENCH ADMIRALS

The French Committee of National ‘Liberation announced that Admiral Michelier and Vice-Admiral Godefroy have been placed on the retired list. Admiral Michelier commanded the French naval force at Casablanca when the Americans landed on November 11, 1942, and Admiral - Godefroy commanded the French fleet at Alexandria when France fell and refused to hand over the fleet to the Fighting French.
