FEATHERSTON
PRIZE-GIVING GATHERING AT KAHUTARA. (“Times- Age” Special.) The Kahutara Bible Class and Sunday School prize giving took place on Tuesday evening, when there was a large attendance of children and parents. The children presented two .plays, which were received with much applause. The younger cnildren sang part songs. A pianoforte duet was given by Mrs Pound and Miss Holland, and Misses Ngaire Maisey and Gwenda Hubbard sang several ducts in character. Miss G. Warrington also sang. All the items were much appreciated. The Rev H. Woolford was a capable M.C. He and Mrs Sadler presented the prizes to the children after supper. A presentation was made to Mrs G. Sadler, Superintendent of the Sunday School. Mrs C. Bargh received a small gift in appreciation of the assistance given by her in church work. Shoulder sprays were presented to the ladies who had assisted Mrs Sadler, and also to Miss Holland for her help in training the children in singing.
Service Club Card Party. At a euchre tournament held in the Srevice Club, the results were: —Ladies, Mrs Wenden 1, Miss Esma Card and Private Aird, equal, 2. In the aggregate .Mr Cross was first and Mrs Lowell second. Mr Saba won the competition held. COSY THEATRE DOUBLE FEATURE BILL. Tomorrow night there will be a double feature programme. Gene Autry and Smiley Burnette will be seen in the thrilling melodious drama, “Singing Hill,” while “Rings on her Fingers” is one of the funniest pictures ever produced, with Gene Tierney and Henry Fonda in the chief roles.
