SALE AT ADDINGTON. FAT LAMB AND MUTTON PRICES LOWER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, December 8. Fat lamb and mutton prices were lower at today's Addington, market, the continued dry weather causing heavy entries. Fat cattle were slightly dearer. A store sheep top pen made 30s and others 27s and 28s 3d, with smaller 24s 9d to 26s 6d. Some large lines of woolly ewes and lambs were forward and sold from 17s to 18s lid. As with the fat lamb section there was an easing in the market, a drop of 4s to 5s a head both in ewes and wethers being recorded. Competition for good cattle opened at about 20s a head better than last week. There was a keen sale over the concluding pens when some of the primest cattle of the market were disposed of, making prices approaching those of the sales of five or six weeks ago. Best beef made from 57s to 60s per- 1001 b. and medium to good, 51s to 565. The yarding of porkers was the largest so far this season and consisted mainly of good quality pigs which met a keen sale at full schedule rates. In the bacon section values were easier all round by Is to 2s a head. The average price per lb. was 8d to B|d.
