EKETAHUNA

OQD FELLOWS’ LODGE a C INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS ("Times-Age” Special.) There was an attendance of 70 members and visitors' at the fortnightly meeting of the local Odd Fellows’ Lodge on Saturday night 1 . The N.G.. Bro W. Evans, presided. The following district officers were present: Bros. R. Farrow (District Grand Master), Holt (Deputy District Grand Mastrict Grand Master), Blair. Past Grand trict Grand Master), Blain, aPast Grand Master for New Zealand, J. Stewart, Grand Secretary for New Zealand, and Bros Bird and Courtmay, members of the District Management Committee. The District Grand Master, Bro R. Farrow, installed the officers for the ensuing term into their respective chairs, as follows: 1.P.N.G., Bro W. Evans; N.G., Bro H. Daniel; V.G., Sister R. Farrow; elective secretary, Bro H. Duffy; Warden, Bro L. Morris; Ist conductor, Bro. H. Mikoz; 2nd conductor, Bro L. Cooper; guardian, Bro C. Farrow; R.S.N.G., Bro A. Fredericksen; L.S.N.G., Sister M. Farrow; R.S.V.G., Bro. W. Steer; L.S.V.G., Sister V. Cooper. The new officers were invested by the Grand Secretary, Bro Stewart.

During the course of the evening Bro Stewart gave a very interesting address on the various new benefits that were being sponsored by the Order in New Zealand, dealing chiefly with the credit union and the increasing insurance. He congratulated the Eketahuna Lodge on its continued progress in regard to membership. Other district officers also spoke. A party of officers and members of Loyal Mangatainoka Lodge were present. One friend was initiated and one proposed for membership. The serving of supper concluded a most successful meeting. Calf Judging The annual calf judging competitions of the Tararua Calf Club will take place at Eketahuna on Thursday. Personal Items. Mrs C. Sigvertsen and Miss A. Cooper are Rongogokako visitors to Napier. Mrs W. Olsen, who has been on a visit to Wellington, has returned home. Corporal G. Olsen (Tank Corps), who is with the N.Z. forces in Italy, had the misfortune to break two bones in one of his legs while playing football. He isXn inmate in the N.Z. hospital. Mrs W. Hornblow, Newman Road, is an inmate in the Masterton Hospital, where she will undergo an operation. Mrs C. E. Robbie, Senr., Tiraumea, is seriously ill in the Pahiatua Hospital. Mrs P. Jensen, Senr., Tyndall Street, Pahiatua, is the guest of her daughter, Mrs W. Robertson, Anderson Street.
