SPEEDY VICTORY

POSSIBLE AGAINST JAPAN IF ALLIES ACT PROMPTLY OPINION OF CHINESE MISSION (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, December 6. If the offensive in the Far East comes quickly, Japan can be knocked out of the war in a very short time, is the unanimous view of a Chinese mission now visiting Britain. Dr Wang Chih-chieh, who heads the mission, a former Minister of Education and former Minister of Information in the Chinese Government and the closest friend of President Chiang Kaishek, stated: “The' Allies can finish Japan probably within a year if they act promptly. If a general offensive is delayed very much longer, it will take some time to break down the enemy’s resistance, for Japan is now .trying to consolidate her position.’
