C.J.C. MEETING METROPOLITAN TO GLADYNEV CAITHNESS WINS OAKS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, December 5. The weather was perfect and the track hard and fast for the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting on Saturday. The totaliSator handled £.115,147, compared with £81,373 on the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £244,642, an increase of £62,603 on the 1942 turnover. Results: — Suburban Handicap, of 1.1 miles: 2/2 Voltaire, 1; 8/8 Gfinga Din, 2; 10/10 Gay Thread, 3.
