Mrs Whittaker, in reply, said she had had to train the girls in the street, and this she had accomplished without accident. She was sorry to be leaving Masterton. She wished the girls every success, and said the Transport section had already put in a challenge for the shield, to be decided in March. The Canteen Platoon was also challenging. Mrs Whittaker said she had also collected for the soldiers’ parcel fund by means of a wheelbarrow.
