Only three civilians were injured when a Flying Fortress, the crew of which had baled out, crashed in the middle of the village of Deenethorpe, in Northamptonshire, today. The Fortress hit an empty cottage and the blast from the exploding of the 6,0001 b bomb load was heard ten miles away, damaged practically all the thirty odd houses in the village and shattered windows for miles. One among the damaged houses was Deene Park, which is mentioned in Doomsday Book.
