ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

INSPECTION OF MASTERTON BRIGADE GATHERING AT COLLEGE. CERTIFICATES PRESENTED. '' There was a large attendance at the annual inspection of the Masterton St. John Ambulance Brigade, held in the Wairarapa College Assembly Hall on Saturday afternoon. . -Assistant Commissioner W. W. Dutton, District Officer Hislop and Lady District Officer McKnight (Wellington) conducted the inspection. The senior division gave a demonstration of drill. The Nursing and the Ladies’ Cadet divisions were on parade. The senior Nursing division gave a cape drill display which was favourably commented on. The cadets were congratulated on their handseat and stretcher drill and bandaging, and on their efficiency and steadiness on parade. The following cadets received their certificates: —Cadets M. Haxton, B. Wainscott, K. Cunningham, I. Milne, L. and D. Spicer. In the absence of Cadet Officer'" G. B. Dean, Temporary Cadet Superintendent C. A. Greenwood received his warrant on his behalf. Sergeant R. Rippon was presented with the Grand Prior’s Badge, (the highest honour in the Cadet division). Corporal N. McNicholl received his badge earlier in the year. A cup presented by Mr L. Dean for the best attendance during the year was won by Cadets M. Voice and K. Cunningham. First Aid certificates were presented to the undermentioned members of the Senior Division: Privates P. F. Downs, L. Sewell, L. Robinson, A. Donald, H. Wilmhurst, H. R. Keltie, and R. Gully. The visiting and local officers were later entertained at afternoon tea by Mesdames F. Cairns and W. S. Flaws at Mrs Flaws’s residence.
