The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Northwesterly winds predominating, strong at times in exposed positions; occasional rain developing about ranges, but weather otherwise fair and warm. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Similar conditions. The Waingawa Sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature, maximum, 75; minimum, 49; terrestrial, 40; sunshine, 9 hours 12 minutes.
