MASTERTON WEST SCHOOL
WELFARE DISCUSSED MEETING OF COMBINED COMMITTEES A meeting of the combined committees of the Masterton West Home and School Association and the West School Committee was held last night, Mr H. Esau presiding over a good attendance. Considerable discussion took place concerning the gala to be held on Saturday, March 4, 1944, and various suggestions and arrangements were made to ensure the success of the gathering. It was decided to hold a fancy dress display by the small children at the gathering on March 4. Matters coancerning the grounds and the lawn-mower were discussed, and it was decided to appeal to cricket clubs and private individuals for cricket balls which were urgently required in connection with cricket activities at the school, and which could be left with the headmaster, Mr Farrell. Other matters concerning the welfare of the school were discussed, those present expressing a desire to help the school and the pupils in every way possible. It was decided to meet again on February 1. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded a successful meeting.
