ALTERATION IN SCHEME COUPONS FOR LINEN AND WOOL TRv Telegraph—Press Association.) ( y WELLINGTON, This Day. Alterations in the clothing rationing scheme were announced yesterday by the Food and Rationing Controller, Mr J. E. He said that the basic release of 26 coupons each half-year would be maintained; but this time the coupons were to be divided into three sections as follows:— The blue coupons No. 1 to 20, marked “clothing coupon” or “infant clothing on sheet 10 of the third series ration book are available for the purchase of all clothing and household linen, including baby linen, but not for any type (>f WOOl - M i 9 Wool: The blue coupons No. 1 to 3 marked “wool coupons” or “infant wool” on sheet 10 of the third series ration book are available for the puichase of both wool (other than baby wool) and clothing. Household Linen: The red household linen coupons Nos. 1 to 3 on sheet 11 of the ration book are available for the purchase of household linen only and may not be used for either wool or clothing. All people living in hotels and boarding-houses where linen is provided are to surrender householdlinen coupons numbers 1 to 3 to the proprietor before December 31. The proprietor is required to return these coupons to the Rationing Controllei to be held as a credit against future applications for linen for the establishment. All 26 of the coupons now released will be available till further notice. The “E” coupons were cancelled on November 30. Another alteration to the clothing rationing scheme announced by Mr Thomas was a reduction in the coupon value of heavy wools, that is, wheeling, double knitting, totem and blanket wool, which are now rated at Boz per coupon as against 4oz per coupon for fingering wools. This means that double the quantity of the heavy type of wools may be purchased on the available wool coupon. Instead of making an additional issue of clothing coupons to children under the age of 16 years, a special schedule of coupon values for children ages 5 to 15 has been compiled to have effect as from December 1.
