DAY AND NIGHT ATTACKS CONTINUED ALLIED AIRCRAFT LOSSES THIS YEAR. FIGURES GIVEN BY AIR MINISTER. LONDON, December 1. For the third day running American heavy bombers based in Britain attacked targets today in Western Germany. They were covered by American and R.A.F. fighters. Medium bombers, with R.A.F. Dominions and Allied fighters, an airfield in Northern France. At night Mosquitos made another swift attack over Germany and mines were laid in German shipping lanes. During November the R.A.F. Bomber Command dropped 13,000 tons of bombs on Germany, compared with 120 tons dropped on Britain by the Germans. In the eleven months so far this year. 2,830 British heavy bombers have been lost by night and 106 by day. In the same period, 829 American bombers operating from this country were reported lost by day. These figures were given by Sir Archibald Sinclair, Britain’s Air Minister.
