ALLIED AIR ONSLAUGHT' ON RANGOON DAY & NIGHT BOMBING. AIRFIELD, DOCKS & RAILWAYS BATTERED. LONDON, December 1. Rangoon, in Biirina, lias been Ihe main target of a series of Allied air attacks during the past few days. The Tenth United States Army Air Force has struck its heaviest blow so far. Medium and light bombers attacked an airfield and other planes went for railway yards and workshops, the tonnage of bombs dropped being greater than in any previous raid. R.A.F. bombers at night attacked the docks, which were again bombed in a later attack. SHIPPING ACTIVITY IN THE BAY OF BENGAL. OFFENSIVE ANTICIPATED BY JAPANESE. NEW YORK, December 1. Greatly-increased Allied shipping activity in the Bay of Bengal is reported by the German radio, which quotes a dispatch from Tokio. The radio, added that Japanese circles regard this as a sign of an impending offensive under Admiral Mountbatten, the preparations 1 for which have taken a sudden leap forward.
