SOVIET SECRET WAR DEVICE. GRENADE THAT EXPLODES ' TWENTY TIMES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON, November 29. The Russians are using a secret weapon called a “jumping jack,” which the Germans say was one of the secrets of the war and is responsible for the Rusr sian advance this year. This is reported by the Lisbon correspondent of the British United Press, who quotes neutral military circles. The new weapon is reported to be a kind of mortar throwing a grenade which, after leaving the barrel, makes a series of .20 jumps. A big explosion coincides with each jump. The first explosion is sufficiently powerful to knock out heavy tanks, and even the twentieth is able 'to scatter ground troops.
