CASES OF GANGRENE
MORE NUMEROUS IN ITALY. . THAN IN DESERT CAMPAIGNS. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, November 29. Bad weather, mud, and other local conditions have caused gangrene cases among Allied soldiers in Italy to increase to 20 in 1000, compared with three in 1000 in the desert campaigns. Field doctors are successfully countering the infection by early use of antitoxin serum and the thorough cleansing of wounds. Medical men are developing a campletely equipped bacteriological laboratory for study and treatment of all forms of gangrene.
