SUCCESS IN MIDDLE EAST CONTEST. N.Z.E.F. Official News Service. CAIRO, November 24. New Zealand marksmen gave a good exhibition to win the international contest on the Abbessia range, their total points being 542. South Africa was second with 516, Cape Town Highlanders third with 454, and the Royal Egyptian Bodyguard fourth with 437. Gold, silver and bronze medals inscribed with the Royal Egyptian coat of arms and donated by King Farouk were presented to the first three members of each nine-man team. Following the shoot, which was under service conditions, the teams were entertained at a buffet dinner at the range and later at a cocktail party n the officers’ mess, and in the palace by King Farouk, who also took part in the shoot as a member of the Royal Bodyguard team.
