CROQUET RESULTS OF GAMES PLAYED (“Times-Age” Special.) The following matches were recently played against Masterton players on the Featherston croquet lawns, Featherston players being mentioned first in each case: —A grade interclub singles, Mrs Saunders beat Mrs Bassett, 26/3; Mrs Hyland lost to Mrs Finlayson, 25/26; Mrs O’Neale beat Mrs Clayson, 26/7; Mrs Batchelor lost to Mrs Scrivener, 3/26. Doubles: Mrs .Saunders and Mrs Batchelor beat Mrs Bassett and Mrs Scrivener, 26/17; Mrs Hyland and Mrs O’Neale beat Mrs Finlayson and Mrs Clayton, 26/24. St. John’s Ladies’ Guild. Owing to the inclement weather, the St. John's Ladies’ Guild garden party, which was to have been held in the grounds of Dr and Mrs Sharp's home yesterday afternoon, was held indoors instead. However, a large number of ladies were present and a most successful and enjoyable time was spent, Mrs Durrad, who came from Khandallah, was the guest of the afternoon, and was'welcomed by the Vicar, who also thanked Dr and Mrs Sharp for the use of their house and garden. A hand spun knitted shawl given by Mrs Charles Matthews was offered as a prize in a guessing competition and was won by Mrs Muir. COSY THEATRE “ICE CAP ADES.” The brilliant musical comedy, “Ice Capades,” will be presented tonight. The chief roles are taken by Megan Taylor, Dorothy Lewis and James- Ellison.
