Sunday School Anniversary. The Knox Presbyterian Sunday School anniversary will be celebrated at both the morning and evening services at the Knox Church on Sunday. Special music will be rendered by the scholars and Solway College pupils. Mosley Release Protest. A resolution allying themselves “with the British trade unions in opposition to the release of the Fascist, Sir Oswald Mosley,” was carried today by delegates to the annual conference of the New Zealand Labourers' Federation. High Price for Wool. Gisborne has provided the highest price for crossbred wool for the Dominion since the war appraisals began. Mr H. Q. Barker’s offering of 11 bales of hogget fleece wool, representing 30 per cent of his cjip, realised 194 d. Other lots, of six bales each, realised 18 ; ld and 18|d, while in numerous instances 17Ad and 173 d was paid. Holiday Pay. The principle of annual holidays on pay for all workers was endorsed in Christchurch yesterday at the annual conference of the New Zealand Labourers’ Federation, which decided to ask the Government to implement its promise to make provision for this. This question particularly concerns members of unions affiliated to the federation.

Alleged Theft of Money. Arrested at Christchurch yesterday Cyril Graham Storry, branch manager, was charged in the Magistrates’ Court with the theft of £3O 12s, the property of Woolworths, N.Z., Ltd. He was remanded till December 2. On bail being asked for, Detective-Sergeant F. J. Brady asked that it be made substantial. Other charges were pending involving £l2OO. Bail was granted in self £5OO and two securities of £5OO. Storry is to report to the police daily. Out of Date Nurses.

“One of the greatest flaws in our present system is that nurses get out of date,” said Miss M. L. Lindsay, matron of the Timaru Public Hospital, when addressing the Timaru Townswomen’s Guild. “Even a short period away from hospital will put nurses out of touch. This was shown very plainly when the emergency services were being organised. Many retired nurses offered to help, but they were too out of touch to give lectures or instruction, or even to take their place with trained voluntary workers.” W.W.S.A. Dance. An enjoyable dance was held last night in the Masonic Hall by the W.W.S.A. The members of the W.W.S.A. were in attendance as ticket sellers, doorkeepers, etc., and Mrs McCord was in charge of the supper. The competitions were won as follow: — Lucky seat, Miss J. McDonald and Mr J. Spora; lucky spot" dance, Cpl. Barrer and Mr R. Hiscdx; Monte Carlo dance, Miss Jensen and Mr Falconer. The next dance will be held on December 22, when special arrangements will be made- for patrons to enjoy themselves in the true spirit of the period. Theft of Clothing.

Eighty dozen garments valued at £3OO were stolen by burglars from the factory * and showroom of Stirling Henry (N.Z.) Limited, clothing manufacturers, Queen Street, Auckland, toward the end of last week. The garments were all women’s pyjamas, nightgowns and underwear. Ten days previously £BO worth of similar articles were stolen. On each occasion entry was gained to the premises by forcing the door of a garage on the ground floor and forcing another door on the stairs leading to the clothing manufacturers’ premises. Nothing was disturbed in the motor garage or any of the offices.
