. WOMEN’S AUXILIARY FINAL MEETING OF YEAR At the final meeting of the year of the Methodist Women’s Missionary Auxiliary, Mrs G. H. Goodman presided over a good attendance. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Gill, Jamieson, Shoosmith, Hansen and Misses Burton and Ninnes. A message of sympathy was sent to Mrs Gill, who is in hospital. Final arrangements for the Christmas gift sale in aid of the Solomon’’lslands rehabilitation, to be held on December 7, were made. The auxiliary arranged to hold a garden party in March next. The report of the recent Methodist Women’s Missionary Union conference held in Auckland was read by Mrs Jansen.

An article was read by Miss Jackson describing a mission hospital at Ayaarngarh, India, and emphasising the efficiency of Indian women when trained as doctors and nurses.

Afternoon ’ tea . was served by Mesdames Andrews and Scrivener.
