SCHOOL COMMITTEES

FORMATION OF MASTERTON ASSOCIATION. OBJECTS OF NEW ORGANISATION. Representatives from the Whatman, Lansdowne, Central and West school committees met in Masterton last night, when ; it was decided- to form a Masterton School Committees’ Association. The next meeting was fixed for December 9 at the West School at 7.30 p.m., when each school committee will be asked to send two representatives and its headmaster. Messrs W. R. Nicol and J. D. O’Connor, members of the Wellington Education Board, will also be present. The three main objects of the Association will be: —(1) Securing milk at schools for children; (2) increased capitation grants; (3) appointment of permanent caretakers as promised by the Govrenment.
