Mrs D. Riddell, of Pongaroa, is recovering from her recent illness. Mrs A. Thomas, of Pahiatua, has received advice that her son has been awarded the Sir James Wilson medal for the leading first-year sheep-farm-ing student at Massey College for 1943. Major and Mrs Dick, of Whatman Home, left Masterton today for Wellington to attend a farewell gathering to Colonel and Mrs W. A. Ebbs, of the Salvation Army, who have been transferred to .Australia. The engagement is announced from London of Sergeant N. A. Rippon, R.N.Z.A.F., son of Mrs E. E. Rippon, of Cornwall Street, Masterton, to Miriam 'E. Lane, daughter of Mr and Mrs Lane, Purley, Surrey, England.
