CHARGE OF MURDER

AGAINST INSANE MAN. VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) : NELSON, November 23. A murder trial was disposed of in under an hour and a half in the Supreme Court before Mr Justice Northcroft today. The jury without, retiring returned a verdict of not guilty, the reason for the verdict being that accused was insane. The charge of murder was made against a patient, Norman 'Gladstone Howell, of Ngawhatu Mental Hospital, who was alleged to have killed another patient by striking him on the head and arms with a spoke of a cart wheel.
