CHILDREN’S REARING COMPETITIONS

GATHERING AT CLAREVILLE THE SUCCESSFUL COMPETITORS (“Times-Age” Special.) The Clareville School Calf Club held its annual competitions at the Clareville Hall yesterday. There was a good attendance of parents and competition was keen. The judge. Mr C. Jensen, Junr., of Waihakeke, expressed surprise at the high quality of the calves exhibited. The awards were as follow: — CALVES Standard 2 and under. —Care and handling, Kelvin Stretton 1, Beth Humphries 2, Elizabeth Rayner 3. Standard 3 and up.—Care ami handling, Raeburn Abbott 1, Marjorie Daysh 2, Keith Edwards 3. Dairy type.—June Rayner 1. Raeburn Abbott 2, Elizabeth Rayner 3. LAMBS Lambs. —Gwendoline Edwards 1, Athol Lyster 2. There was a splendid display of arts and crafts in the Clareville Social Hall.
