WARTIME SERVICE HELD IN TOWN HALL LAST NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The United Wartime Service held in the Town Hall last evening was well attended. The Rev. J. R. Higgs gave an excellent address and the Rev. H. Bloomfield led the prayers. A sacred solo was rendered by Miss Askew (Grey-, town), who has a beautiful voice. The combined choirs sang a hymn and anthem. The Junior Patriotic Committee held a successful dance in the Town Hall on Saturday night. The music was supplied by Mrs Ashton’s orchestra ,and extras were played by Mrs P. Fraser and Sergeant Nicholson The lucky spot dance was won by Mrs S. McCarty and partner. The artistically decorated supper tables were the work of Mrs Alexander. Dance at Kaiwaiwai. The Kaiwaiwai Hall Committee will hold a dance and euchre party in the Kaiwaiwai Hall tonight, when patrons are assured of an enjoyable time. COSY THEATRE “EBB TIDE.” On Wednesday there will be shown the excellent drama, “Ebb Tide,” featuring Ray Milland, Oscar Homolka and Frances Farmer. The associate feature is the film version of Rex Beach’s great sea story, “The Barrier,’’ in which the chief roles are taken by Leo Carrillo and Jean Parker.
