LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST FINE & WARM. RAIN IN THE RANGES. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate north-westerly winds, becoming strong at times. Weather fair to fine and warm. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Rain in the ranges, mainly fair elsewhere. The Waingawa Sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature, maximum, 72; minimum, 41; terrestrial, 29; sunshine, 13' hours 42 minutes; frost, 1.4 degrees.
