OBITUARY
COLONEL A. SCOTNEY RETIRED SALVATION ARMY OFFICER (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The death has occurred of Colonel Albert Scotney, a retired officer of the Salvation. Army. For ten years he was in Victoria, Queensland; and Tasmania, and was then 'transferred to New Zealand, where he was appointed to social work. He managed boys homes, first at Island Bay, then at Eltham, and in 1920 was appointed Men’s Social Secretary. A special feature of his work was his interest in and labour for prisoners. In 1924 he was appointed Property Secretary. He leaves a wife, son (a naval officer) and daughter, Mrs Boudinet, of Christchurch.
