"LAMBS AND CALVES RESULTS OF JUDGING. Special.) There was a large gathering of parents and friends at the Kopuaranga school to witness the judging of calves and lambs. The judge was Mr L. A. Keats, Mt. Bruce, and the results were as follow: — Lambs. —Long wool: Margaret Greenland 1, Evelyn Cottle 2. . Short wool: Lorraine Cottle 1, Sam Cottle 2, Betty Willoughby 3. Calves. —Dairy type: Gwen Cottle 1, Bruce Cottle 2, Mavis Cottle 3. Care and handling: Gladys Tuieri 1, Gwen Cottle 2, Mavis Cottle 3. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr Keats, to Mr Brockett for his interest in the calf club, and to the parents for attending and making the gathering the success it was. Messrs Keats and Brockett returned thanks, stating that they would be only too pleased to help the club at any time.
Mr C. C. Jackson presented the prizes to the winners, and consolation prizes to all who had made entries. He congratulated the children on bringing forward their calves and lambs in such good condition, and in handling them so well. Mr Jackson thanked Miss Murphy and Mrs Jarrett for their assistance.
Morning tea was served by the children.
