AFRICA MEDAL
APPROVED BY THE KING FOR MEMBERS OF UNION SERVICES (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.52 a.m.) RUGBY, November 16. It is officially announced by General Smuts that the King has approved steps being taken for the institution of an “Africa Service Medal,” to be awarded to all members of the Union Defence Forces and other uniformed services of the Union who were attested for service in Africa before May 13, 1943, the day on which Africa was finally cleared. Men and women of all ranks will be eligible. ' _______
