EKETAHUNA
REV. D. MCNEUR
TRIBUTES AT FAREWELL GATHERING.
(“Times-Age” Special.) Glowing tributes to the work he had accomplished in furthering the interests of the church were paid to the Rev. David McNeur when he was entertained at a farewell gathering at Mr and Mrs W. N. Richardson’s residence last night. Mr M. Priest presided over a large gathering of Presbyterians and their friends from all parts of the Eketahuna and Kaiparoro districts. Games and musical items were enjoyed. Mr Priest, in making a/presentation to Mr McNeur, said he had accomplished splendid work. -The parish was a difficult one on account of its large area, but Mr McNeur had carried out his duties in an excellent manner and had earned the friendship and respect of his own parishioners as well as those of other denominations. They had all been very happy together and they were sorry to lose Mr McNeur. Good wishes were extended for Mr and Mrs McNeur’s future welfare. Messrs H. Baillie, C. Burton (Kaiparoro), and Mrs H. P. Hansen endorsed Mr Priest’s remarks. Mr McNeur returned thanks. Apologies for absence were received from the Mayor and Mayoress of Eketahuna and the Rev. J. C. W. Mutter, who expressed regret at not being able to be present.
