SWIMMING CLUB ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Featherston Amateur Swimming Club was held in the Odd Fellows’ Hall last evening, Mr W. Johnson presiding. Apologies for absence were i-eceived from Messrs W. J. Boston and D. Holland. It was reported thht the baths were being painted and that the opening day would be held in the first week in December, weather permitting. Mrs Hatton was appointed custodian The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr J. W. Card; president, Mr AV. J. Boston; vice-presi-dents, Messrs W. Johnson, D. H. S. Riddiford, J. C. Bidwill, R. W. Matthews, M. B. Tait, T. Lang, W. Davis, J. Saba Junr., T. G. Hardie, L. Le Bone, F. A. O’Neale, P. A. Wilton, J. S. Howell and R. H. L. Jones; club captain, Miss P. Hatton; secretary and treasurer, Miss A. Johnson; hon. surgeon, Dr. G. S. Sharp; hon. auditor, Mr J. G. McKenzie; committee, Misses C. and F. Saba, R. Hatton, M. Davis, Messrs D. Holland, P. Adamson, A. Cross and G White. Armistice Day. Miss Card, president of the Women’s National Reserve Soldiers’ Grave Committee, placed a wreath on the Soldiers’ War Memorial yesterday morning- T . , A short service was held at St. John s Church. COSY THEATRE “STRICTLY IN THE GROOVE.” Tonight there will be a double feature bill shown at the Cosy Theatre. “Strictly in the Groove” is an excellent comedy drama full of good music and good singing. The chief roles are taken by Leon Errol, Shemp Howard, Franklin Pangborn, Grace McDonald, and Jimmy Davis. “Sunset in Wyoming ’ is a picture combining thrills and music, the principal characters being portrayed by Gene Autry and Smiley Burnette.
