EKETAHUNA
PLUNKET SOCIETY PRESENTATION TO MEMBER. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Eketahuna branch of the Plunket Society was held, yesterday, Mrs Albrechtsen presiding over a fair attendance of members. A vote of sympathy was passed with Mrs J. C. McAnulty Senr. in the sad loss of her daughter in the Middle East. The secretary was instructed to write to Mrs McAnulty conveying the sympathy of the members. The nurse’s report for October stated inter alia:—-Babies on books, 75; preschool children, 21; new cases for the month, 4; visits to the district, 4; visits to homes, 10. Visits to office: Adults, 44; babies, 40; children, 6; total, 90.
At the conclusion of the meeting a presentation was made to Mrs H. Higginson, who recently resigned the secretaryship. Mrs Albrechtsen, in making the presentation, expressed appreciation of the very able manner in which Mrs Higginson had carried out her duties while secretary, and asked her to accept a lovely floral picture in autumn tonings. Mrs Higginson warmly thanked the members for their gift, and said that she would at all times be only too happy to help the subbranch in any way she could.
