OBITUARY
MR ROGER Z. RENALL. The death occurred in Masterton this morning of a very old resident of the Wairarapa, in Mr Roger Z. Renall, at the age of 86 years. Mr Renall, who was a son of the late Mr A. W. Renall, a pioneer settler, was born at the Hutt and came to Masterton with his parents at the age of two years. He was later associated with his father in the flour milling business which was then situated in Queen Street, where Mrs H. G. Moser's residence now stands. He then took up bush land' at Kokatau, where he resided for a number of years, prior to coming to Masterton to live in retirement, about 20 years ago.
Although not taking any part in public life the late Mr Renall was always willing to help at gatherings, and was always ready to assist any of the neighbours in time of need. He was a keen cricketer, and represented Wairarapa in many representative matches. Of later years he became a bowler and was an active member of the Masterton Bowling Club until the time of his death. His wife predeceased him seven years ago; and he is survived by 1G children, 24 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. The surviving family are Lady Hart (Masterton). Mesdames Blatchford (Carterton). Fairbrothcr (Te Awamutu). E. Smith (Poverty Bay), Logan (Waipukurau), Messrs L. V. Renall (Masterton), R. A. Renall (Pihia), H. R. R. Renall (Kokatau), H. E. Renall (Hamilton), and N. Renall (Porangahau). The funeral will leave the residence, 21 Worksop Road, on Thursday, November 11, following a service at 1.30 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
