OBITUARY
MR EDGAR T. JOYCE. The many friends of Mr Edgar Theodore Joyce, of Master ton, will regret to learn of- his sudden death at Hastings last night. The late Mr Joyce, who was 55 years of age, had been employed as a plumber by Mr R. E. Baker for the past 10 years. Mr Joyce served his apprenticeship with Mr R. E. Jones and was subsequently employed by the firm of Jones and Joyce. For several years he managed Le Quesne’s and Cowon’s plumbing business (Napier) and he later returned to Masterton to join Mr Baker’s staff. Mr Joyce was popular with a wide circle of friends. He was a former member,of the Municipal Band when it was among the leading bands of New Zealand, and he won many medals for solo playing. He was a member of the Masterton Indoor Bowling Club. He leaves a wife and a grown-up family. The funeral will take place in Masterton on Monday, following a service Hyde’s Chapel at 3 p.m,
