MEETING OF WOMEN’S LEAGUE

VISIT TO BUCHANAN HOME ARRANGED.

COLLECTION FOR LEPER FUND.

The monthly meeting of the Women’s National Welfare League was held in Masterton yesterday. Those present were: Miss Kummer (in the chair), Mesdames A. W. McKenzie, S. Fletcher, R. Whyborn, G. McCracken, S. J. Munn, S. N. Kilgour and Miss Guild. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames T. Jordan, R. C. Drummond, L. Hunter and H. E. Pither.

Miss Kummer reported on 2 visits paid to the Public Hospital during October. Visitors for November 9 are Mrs Whyborn and Miss Guild, and for November 23, Mrs Whyborn and Miss M Cameron. ■

Mrs A. W. McKenzie reported on a case assisted in connection with the social welfare work.

Miss Kummer and Mrs Glen reported that the amount collected from members for the Makogai Leper Fund was £5 10s. It was decided to visit the Buchanan Home early in December. The programme was left to Mrs McCracken to arrange. Any member who wishes to donate cakes, etc., should notify Miss Kummer. Mesdames Drummond and Fletcher were appointed to place flowers on the cenotaph on November 11. Any member desiring to donate goods or money to the A.N.A. Club hamper can leave the same at Mr Ninnes’s shop before November 20.
