TOUR OF AUSTRALIA

N.Z. OPPOSITION LEADER AND COLLEAGUE. STUDY OF COMMON PROBLEMS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, November 2. New Zealand and Australia would have common post-war problems, and he was keen to discover what Australian politicians, industrialists and commercial leaders were thinking about the post-war period, said Mr S. G. Holland, Leader of the New Zealand Opposition, who, with Mr F. W. Doidge, has arrived in Australia to spend a month examining methods being adopted 'here to deal with current problems. Mr Holland said that the people of New Zealand, in common with others, were talking about a new order, but were coming to the opinion that if there were to be a new order each individual would have to make it 'for himself. Mr Holland said that Mr D’Alton, because of his knowledge of primary industries, was a particularly good choice as Australia’s representative in New Zealand. The speaker thought, however, that there should be personal contact between New Zealand and Australia through other than Government sources. For that reason he and Mr Doidge had come to Australia to collect information for the Opposition. During their visit they would confer with Australian Ministers and discover how Australia was dealing with manpower and other war problems.
