AMERICAN BOMBER FORCE ATTACKING GERMANY MARAUDERS ALSO CROSS CHANNEL AIRFIELD NEAR PARIS BOMBED v LONDON, November 3. The greatest force of American heavy bombers ever to take off from Britain delivered another blow at'Germany’s Avar machine in daylight today. The bombers went out in waves and took 40 minutes to cross the coast. No details have yet been received about the raid. The Eighth United States Army Air Force Headquarters state that the bombers were over North-West Germany. They were escorted by fighters. : ( This is the first big daylight attack on Germany for a fortnight. American Marauder medium bombers also resumed their cross-Channel attacks today. They struck at a German airfield 40 miles from Paris. They were escorted and covered by R.A.F. Spitfires. Twelve enemy fighters were shot down. Two Allied fighters are missing. RAIDS ON BRITAIN SOME CASUALTIES & SLIGHT DAMAGE. ENEMY AIRCRAFT DESTROYED. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) RUGBY, November 3. On Tuesday night there was slight enemy activity over parts of East Anglia and South-East England, including the London area.. Bombs were dropped in several places and slight damage and a small number of casualties are reported. One raider was destroyed.
