OVER 200 HITS ON RIVER CRAFT.
RAILWAY AND OTHER TARGETS SET ABLAZE.

A New Delhi headquarters communique 'states: “The R.A.F. yesterday maintained its attacks on enemy river traffic in Burma. Fighters, in offensive sweeps along the Irrawaddy, scored many damaging hits on over 200 river craft, one of which was an 'qfl- barge. Riverside installations were aSfeo shot up. Enemy-occupied villages -in the Chin Hills area were again bombed and machine-gunned by fighter 7 bpmbei’s and dive-bombers. Hits were scored on the targets and fires were left burnng. On Monday night, in a bomber attack on railway communications at Mandalay, bursts were seen in the target area and fires were started. h(one of the R.A.F. aircraft is missing.”
